Arrival & Welcome

When you arrive at the clinic, our friendly reception team will be there to greet you. You’ll be given hand sanitiser and asked to adhere to our social distancing protocols for your health and safety. We’ll grab a few quick details off you before one of our team ushers you to a private screening room. There’s no waiting for hours while your precious time is wasted.

Dental Consultation

Now’s the time to tell the dentist about your concerns. If you’ve never been to the dentist, or it’s been years, there is no need to feel embarrassed. We’ll be happy to see you here.

Got any fears or anxieties? That’s normal, too. So, feel free to chat with the dentist about them. We have a range of options and medications to make even the most nervous person feel relaxed and comfortable in our chairs.

Thorough Clinical Examination

Your dentist will have a thorough investigation of your teeth, then present you with some treatment options. They will explain the pros and cons of each treatment, including risks and costs, so you are adequately informed. Then, they will go through a comprehensive examination which will include:

Review your dental & medical history
Discuss your key concern
Head and neck examination
TMJ examination (examine your jawbone and its surrounding muscles)
Oral cancer screening (early detection of oral cancers is vital)
Occlusion exam (examine your bite – the way your teeth touch each other when your mouth is closed)
Periodontal exam (examine your gums)
Hard teeth exam (checking your teeth for cavities, cracks, chips, previous repair work and more)
Chart tooth shade (determining the colour of your teeth)
Take quick, low-dose x-rays and create diagnostic records of your teeth

Treatment Plan

Now that the dentist has had a close examination of your teeth and medical/dental history, we can review your treatment options together and choose the best one for your needs, lifestyle and budget.

Usually in this time, we’ll give you a dental scale and clean, followed by a fluoride treatment. If you require further treatment, we’ll give you a treatment program with an itemised, detailed plan so that you are fully informed.

If you have health insurance, we can run your card through our HICAPS machine to find out exactly how much the treatment will cost for you.

Remember, you are under no obligation to book any more appointments; we’ll simply give you our advice and leave you to decide.
